What is more enticing than sausage gravy & biscuits, it wasn’t until a trip to Ohio in my teens that I even knew such a meal existed, and I thought what is that, it doesn’t sound good, and years later here I am, my family has this meal frequently. In my younger years, I bought the peppered gravy mix, until one day we didn’t have the gravy, so I looked up a recipe!
Sausage gravy & biscuits homemade is so easy and I don’t think most people realize just how easy it is to make your own gravy!
So here it is!
You will need:
1 pound sausage
Canned buttermilk biscuits OR Bisquick Mix
2 1/2 C. whole milk or 2% milk
1/4 C. Flour
salt & pepper to taste
Cook biscuits according to package, while cooking those start your sausage!
Cook sausage until well browned, sprinkle 1/4 C. flour evenly over browned sausage, and stir until sausage is well coated. Now add your 2 1/2 C. Milk, stirring frequently until hot and bubbly. You will see it thicken before your eyes! Now add some salt and pepper to taste and
