This dish is so good and easy to make Cheesy Potatoes. The best part is they are great for picnics, get-togethers, weddings even! But I must warn you it’s hard to stop eating them.
These can be made with diced potatoes or hash browns, they are good with either!
Here’s what you need to make a 9x13 dish!
16 oz sour cream
1 Can (10 3/4 oz) cream of chicken soup
1/2 Cup Butter, melted
1 Tbsp. Garlic Salt
1 Cup chopped onions (optional)
1 bag frozen country-style shredded hash browns or regular style, OR one bag frozen diced potatoes
2 Cups shredded cheddar cheese, I’ve also used what I had on hand like Mexican and it was good!
Pepper, salt to your taste if desired
For topping:
Frosted Flakes (about 4 cups), crushed or not!
Butter, about 4Tbsp, melted
Heat oven to 350
In a large bowl, combine sour cream, a can of soup, 1/2 cup butter (melted), garlic salt, cheese, pepper, and salt. Stir till combined.
Add Cheesy Potatoes and onions to a 9x13 pan, pour ingredients over potatoes, and stir.
(You may also choose to just add your potatoes and onions into the bowl, stir and transfer into the pan.)
Bake for 20 minutes
Then:
At 20 minutes add your frosted flake topping and finish cooking for 25 minutes.
*For the topping, mix crushed Frosted Flakes with 4Tbsp. melted Butter and spread over the top
Total bake time 45 minutes
